The PLAC Test for Lp-PLA2
The PLAC Test for automated turbidimetric
immunoassay clinical chemistry analyzers
The diaDexus PLAC® Test is available in both turbidimetric immunoassay and ELISA formats that are both FDA-cleared for the quantitative determination of Lp-PLA2 (lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2) in human plasma or serum, to be used in conjunction with clinical evaluation and patient risk assessment as an aid in predicting risk for coronary heart disease, and ischemic stroke associated with atherosclerosis.

The turbidimetric immunoassay (TIA) test format runs on popular clinical chemistry analyzers. The PLAC Test TIA format must be run in a CLIA-certified moderate or high complexity labratory. ELISA test format – a microplate-based enzyme immunoassay, this high-complexity test is based on the principle of an enzyme-linked sandwich immunosorbent assay (ELISA) using two highly specific monoclonal antibodies. The PLAC Test ELISA format must be run in a CLIA-certified high-complexity laboratory.
